Carroll Wayne Dale (born April 24, ) is an American former professional football player who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL).[1] He was an All-American playing college football for the Virginia Tech Hokies before becoming a member of the Green Bay Packers teams that won three straight NFL championships, including the first two Super Bowls.
He was originally from Wise, Virginia.
Early life
He grew up in Wise, Virginia, and played football for Wise High School, a school with only students.[3]
Career
Dale initially signed a letter of intent to attend the University of Tennessee on an athletic scholarship.[3] "The size of that city, Knoxville, just kind of scared me and I left," Carroll later recalled.[3]
