Biography.

Biographical background, origin Mr. Gonzalez (Jalisco, Mexico ), working on father's farm as a youth, revolution, working for Sur Pacific Company in El Paso.

In his youth, he worked alongside his siblings and father tending to their farms. While working outside of Matamoros, Mexico, he met the love of his life Celia Longoria. On October 1, 1951, the two were married and later went on to have 9 children.

In the early years of their marriage, the couple traveled across the US as farm workers before eventually settling in Hobbs, New Mexico in 1958.

Genaro began his experience in the roofing trade as an employee of Frontier Roofing Company and Helms Roofing where he soon developed the nickname “Flattop” for his experience in flat roofs and his flattop haircut.
